Press Release: Salvage operation in the Aegean

At around 23:48 UTC on 3 July, Bulk Carriers Katerina and Baru Satu collided in the Aegean Sea around 8nm SW of Gavrio, Andros Island. Katerina was in danger of sinking. Salvage of the Baru Satu was awarded to SMIT / MEGTUGS and oil spill response was entrusted to OSRA Greece. The salvage operation was delicate, but was concluded successfully following an operation lasting around 24 days.
